I grew up in Tacoma in the 60's and 70's My first professional game I attended was a Tacoma game with my grandfather. It was not a Giants game as I was too young to go. However, later as an adult I found out my Junior High School history teacher was a pitcher for the Tacoma and San Francisco Giants. John Pregenzer. While I did not know this as a student Mr. Pregenzer had an influence on me that can be called the reason for this page and for that matter this entire web site. Mr. Pregenzer's teaching in Jr. High caused me to start a life long interest in history. Not just Baseball but history in general. I have focused on Baseball in recent years and for that I thank Mr. John Pregenzer. I hope that Vintage Cardboard will reflect positively on his influence.
